Russia-Ukraine War Inspires Mohanlal’s New Film ‘Operation Ganga’

Malayalam superstar Mohanlal’s 367th film has been officially titled ‘Operation Ganga’. The ambitious project is being written and directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Vishnu Mohan, known for ‘Meppadiyan’. The film draws inspiration from the Indian government’s evacuation mission that rescued Indian citizens stranded in Ukraine during the Russia-Ukraine war. However, the director has clarified that the movie is not a conventional army-based film and is inspired by multiple real incidents.

The film features Arjun Rampal, Bhagyashri Borse, Parthiban and Adil Hussain in key roles alongside Mohanlal. Miroslav Kuba Brozek, known for his work on the ‘Pushpa’ films, is handling cinematography, while South Korean action choreographer SeaYoung Oh, associated with ‘Kill’ and ‘Dhurandhar’, is overseeing the action sequences. Shashwat Sachdev is composing the music. Produced by Gokulam Gopalan under Sree Gokulam Movies, the film is currently being shot in Georgia.
