

Veteran actor Nana Patekar’s sudden death has left filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma deeply shocked. Reacting to the news, Varma expressed disbelief over the loss and recalled Patekar’s powerful screen presence and extraordinary acting ability. Describing him as an “acting god”, Varma said he never imagined that someone as strong and formidable as Patekar would be gone so suddenly.
Ram Gopal Varma and Nana Patekar worked together on several films, including ‘Bhoot’, ‘Darna Mana Hai’, ‘Ab Tak Chhappan’ and ‘The Attacks of 26/11’. Patekar’s performance as encounter specialist Sadhu Agashe in ‘Ab Tak Chhappan’ remains one of their most notable collaborations. Meanwhile, Patekar died at the age of 75 after suffering a cardiac arrest at his residence in Goa. He was taken to Manipal Hospital, where doctors attempted CPR for around 45 minutes but could not revive him. He was declared dead at 5:20 am.
