RGV Applauds Yami Gautam After National Award Win for 'Article 370'

Yami Gautam emerged as one of the biggest winners at the 72nd National Film Awards, receiving the Best Actress honour for her acclaimed performance in the political action thriller Article 370. The film also won the Best Feature Film award, while Shashwat Sachdev received the National Award for Best Music Director. The recognition has drawn widespread appreciation from fans and members of the film industry.

Congratulating Yami, filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma shared a heartfelt message on social media. He said that although he has never believed in the concept of awards, he strongly believes in recognising dedication, honesty, and commitment to one's craft. Calling Article 370 a film that Yami truly believed in, he praised her perseverance, courage, hard work, and self-confidence, expressing confidence that she would continue to achieve many more milestones in her career. Yami, who is married to filmmaker Aditya Dhar, is also well known to Telugu audiences through films such as Nuvvila, Gouravam, and Courier Boy Kalyan.
