Among the films that changed the face of South Indian cinema, KGF stands tall. After Baahubali, it became the next massive sensation. Everyone associated with the film saw their lives transform overnight. Hero Yash’s stardom skyrocketed, and director Prashanth Neel became one of the most sought-after filmmakers in India. The production house Hombale Films too rose to an unparalleled level of success.
Heroine Srinidhi Shetty also turned into a busy actress. She has already acted in the Telugu film Hit 3, and she will soon appear in Telusu Kada. Earlier, there were reports that she was being considered for a mega project like Ramayana. However, rumors suggested that Srinidhi had rejected the role of Sita.
When this topic was brought up during the Telusu Kada promotional interview, Srinidhi clarified that those rumors were false.
She said, “Who would reject the opportunity to play Sita in a grand film like Ramayana? That’s impossible!” She confirmed that she had indeed auditioned for the role. “Yes, they called me for the Ramayana film, and I attended the audition. Getting a chance in such a big movie makes anyone feel happy. Especially a role like Sita — it’s something to be truly honored about. I really hoped to play that part, but they must have considered many other names and chosen who suited best. When I found out they selected Sai Pallavi for the role, I felt very happy that someone from the South got it. There’s no question of rejecting such a film — that would be wrong,” said Srinidhi Shetty.
Having delivered a hit with Hit 3, Srinidhi appears very confident about Telusu Kada as well. Directed by stylist-turned-filmmaker Neeraj Kona, the film stars Siddhu Jonnalagadda, Srinidhi Shetty, and Raashi Khanna in lead roles. It is scheduled for release on October 17.
