‘Rebel’ Caused Heavy Losses? Producers Reveal Their Frustration with Raghava Lawrence

Prabhas-starrer ‘Rebel’, directed by Raghava Lawrence, was released in 2012 amid huge expectations as a high-octane mass action entertainer. Despite generating significant buzz before its release, the film failed to achieve the expected success at the box office. Recently, producers J. Bhagavan and J. Pullarao opened up about their experience while making the film and shared several interesting insights during an interview.

Speaking about director Raghava Lawrence, the producers revealed that he had initially promised to complete the project within a fixed budget. However, the allocated budget was exhausted before half of the film was completed. Although this caused some frustration at the time, they acknowledged that Lawrence never compromised on his creative vision. The producers stated that they continued the project with confidence despite anticipating possible losses. They also praised Prabhas for extending tremendous support throughout the film’s production journey.
