Bollywood actor Randeep Hooda has revealed that he was initially approached to play the role of Aurangzeb in the blockbuster historical film ‘Chhaava.’ However, the actor said he had to turn down the opportunity as he was preparing for his film ‘Swatantrya Veer Savarkar’ at that time. Randeep explained that he had undergone a major physical transformation for the role and felt he would not suit the character of Aurangzeb in ‘Chhaava.’
The actor also shared that the film’s strong religious backdrop and an ongoing court case related to ‘Swatantrya Veer Savarkar’ influenced his decision. Following his exit, the role was eventually played by Akshaye Khanna. Directed by Laxman Utekar, ‘Chhaava,’ based on the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, became a massive box office success, reportedly earning nearly ₹800 crore worldwide. Vicky Kaushal received widespread praise for his performance, while Rashmika Mandanna impressed audiences as Sambhaji Maharaj’s wife.
