Director Ram Gopal Varma described 'Rakta Charitra' as one of the most special films of his career during the film's re-release press meet. He said the movie was made after extensive research into the real-life factional violence in Rayalaseema and was intended to highlight the devastating consequences of conflict. The 2010 blockbuster is set for a grand re-release after 16 years. Varma also clarified that there is no possibility of 'Rakta Charitra Part 3', stating that the story concluded with the second installment.
Speaking on various industry-related topics, Varma said there is nothing wrong with star dominance in cinema, as audiences primarily buy tickets to watch stars. He added that he has no interest in directing family-oriented or mythological films, preferring realistic dramas instead. Producers Natti Kumar and Muralikrishna Vankayalapati said the film is being re-released in a large number of theatres to introduce the acclaimed classic to a new generation of moviegoers, with advance bookings opening soon.
