After achieving global recognition with RRR, Ram Charan faced a setback as Game Changer, directed by Shankar, failed to meet expectations. Moving away from established directors, the actor has now collaborated with debutant Buchi Babu for Peddi. Initial skepticism around the project has turned into excitement, with glimpses and songs like “Chikiri” and “Raira Rairaa” significantly boosting expectations. A.R. Rahman’s music has further elevated the buzz, creating strong anticipation among fans.
Originally slated for a March 27 release, Peddi has been postponed to April 30 due to incomplete shooting and delays in the background score. The makers are now accelerating production, with a special song still pending. Reports suggest that Pooja Hegde, Mrunal Thakur, and Ayesha Khan are being considered for the track. While the film may enjoy minimal competition in Tollywood and North India, it faces strong clashes in the South, with Dhanush’s Tamil release Karnan and Kannada film KD – The Devil arriving on the same day, and the Malayalam multi-starrer Patriot releasing earlier, potentially impacting its openings.
