

Rakul Preet Singh is reportedly playing the crucial role of Shurpanakha in the upcoming two-part film adaptation of the Indian epic Ramayana, directed by Nitesh Tiwari. The film stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, and Yash as Ravana. The first part of the film is expected to release during Diwali this year, and shooting is currently progressing at a rapid pace.
According to reports from the film’s team, scenes featuring Rakul Preet Singh are presently being filmed. It is also said that Nitesh Tiwari conducted several test shoots with different actresses before finally selecting Rakul for the role of Shurpanakha.
The Hindi film has already generated massive expectations, especially since it marks Ranbir Kapoor’s next big project after Animal. Audiences are eagerly waiting to see how Nitesh Tiwari presents the epic on screen, particularly after Prabhas-starrer Adipurush received criticism despite its grand scale.The ensemble cast also includes Sunny Deol as Hanuman, Lara Dutta as Kaikeyi, Indira Krishnan as Kausalya, and Kajal Aggarwal as Mandodari.
