Rakul Preet Singh Breaks Silence on IT Search Reports

Actress Rakul Preet Singh has clarified reports linking her to recent Income Tax searches in Mumbai. The Income Tax Department reportedly conducted searches at 12 locations linked to producer Vashu Bhagnani and Panorama Studios over suspected financial irregularities involving overseas transactions. However, in a statement shared on Instagram, Rakul said the search was not related to her and criticised reports that, according to her, were published without verifying the facts.

Rakul said she comes from an Armed Forces family and built her career through hard work without a godfather in the film industry. She also stated that she has been paying her taxes since the age of 20 and denied involvement in any illegal foreign remittances, either personally or on behalf of a production house. She further denied holding benami properties or accepting expensive gifts and urged media outlets that published inaccurate reports to retract them.
