Superstar Rajinikanth has reportedly praised director Nelson Dilipkumar’s storytelling in Jailer, particularly the way the film subtly establishes the powerful network behind Varma, the antagonist. After watching the film on OTT, Rajinikanth reportedly observed that Nelson conveyed Varma’s international business connections and influence over the police through just four or five scenes. Varma’s warning towards the climax, suggesting that his men would come after the Jailer, also adds to the sense of an unfinished conflict. These details, according to Rajinikanth’s remarks, help establish the scale of the criminal network and the stakes surrounding the central character.
Rajinikanth also highlighted the significance of the three containers worth thousands of crores of rupees that the Jailer possesses, questioning how the gang could simply let him go without pursuing the matter further. He felt that these plot elements provide a strong foundation for Jailer 2, with the Jailer’s hidden support network and influential criminals, including gangsters housed in Nagpur jail, potentially playing an important role. Impressed by the way the story leaves room for further developments, Rajinikanth said he felt the film was very good and called Nelson to share his appreciation. The comments have added to anticipation surrounding the sequel, which is expected to expand the world and conflicts introduced in the first film.
