

During a promotional event in France for his upcoming film Varanasi, acclaimed filmmaker S.S. Rajamouli reflected on the creative choices that shaped his career. He said emotional depth has always been the foundation of his storytelling and admitted that some of his decisions have sparked debates within his family and filmmaking team before reaching the final cut.
Rajamouli cited Jr NTR's Simhadri as an example, recalling the emotional discussion surrounding a pivotal sequence in which the protagonist is forced to kill a good-hearted character to save countless innocent lives. He explained that retaining the scene was essential to preserve the story's emotional impact. According to the director, the decision ultimately strengthened the narrative and played a significant role in the film's lasting success.
