Rajamouli Praises Mahesh Babu’s Performance in Varanasi

Director S.S. Rajamouli is currently busy with his highly anticipated film ‘Varanasi’, starring Superstar Mahesh Babu in the lead role. As part of the film’s promotions, Rajamouli recently interacted with filmmaking students at Penn State, where his comments about selecting actors have gone viral. He said he never chooses an actor simply because they are a superstar, but selects the performer who truly suits the role. Once an actor is chosen, he expects them to trust him, while he guides them to deliver what the character demands.

Speaking about Mahesh Babu, Rajamouli said he initially expected the superstar to give 100 percent for ‘Varanasi’. However, after beginning work with him, Mahesh exceeded his expectations and delivered what Rajamouli described as 200 percent. He praised Mahesh for bringing unexpected dimensions to the character and said the actor’s performance went far beyond what he had imagined. Rajamouli added that working with Mahesh Babu on ‘Varanasi’ has been a very special experience for him.
