So far, only limited information about Rajamouli’s film Varanasi has been officially revealed, mainly during the Globe Trotter event and a few international media interactions. While earlier glimpses hinted at multiple timelines, they offered more visual elevation than clarity. Now, Priyanka Chopra, in a recent interview, has shared important insights, confirming that the film is set across different time periods ranging from 7200 BCE to 2027. However, she clarified that it is not a typical time travel film involving machines, but rather a story that moves across timelines to explore deeper connections.
The narrative is expected to revolve around how characters appear across different eras and worlds, possibly exploring multiple lives or phases of a single individual. It is already confirmed that Mahesh Babu will be seen in dual roles, including a bounty hunter named Rudra and another role linked to Lord Rama. Earlier hints about a globe-trotting adventurer sparked speculation about mythological connections, and the film is likely to reveal more surprises as it progresses.
