Actress Pooja Hegde, fondly called Butta Bomma, once ruled Tollywood with back-to-back star hero films. She enjoyed a massive craze where people believed that any big-star film meant Pooja would be the heroine. But in the film industry, success and failure change everything. After a series of flops, opportunities slowed down, and Pooja had no choice but to take a step back. After Radhe Shyam, she didn’t get even a single Telugu movie. She also walked out of Mahesh Babu’s Guntur Kaaram, and because of that exit, she reportedly missed several other offers too.
Her Bollywood journey also didn't turn out as expected, which is why Pooja has now shifted her focus strongly toward the Tamil film industry. Interestingly, she made her acting debut with a Tamil film, and now she is getting busy again in Kollywood. Even though her project with Suriya did not work out, she continues to receive multiple offers from Tamil filmmakers.
Pooja is already acting in Thalapathy Vijay’s film Jananayagan. Along with that, she has been finalized for Kanchana 4, and two more Tamil projects are said to be in discussion. After a long gap, she is also making a comeback to Telugu cinema through a film with Dulquer Salmaan, directed by Ravi Kumar and produced by Dasara maker Sudhakar Cherukuri. This marks her return to Tollywood after quite some time.
Even though she hasn’t been doing Telugu films lately, Telugu audiences continue to follow and support her on social media. Pooja has repeatedly expressed her desire to act again in Telugu movies. Dulquer’s films have been performing really well, so this new project might help Pooja regain her momentum. There are also special discussions happening in Tollywood about her comeback, as several young heroes reportedly want her as their heroine due to her craze and following. Despite a drop in offers, Pooja is still said to be very firm about her remuneration. If her upcoming Tamil films turn into hits, she may have a strong chance of rebuilding her career again.
