Superstar Mahesh Babu’s birthday is set to bring a special surprise for his fans. The iconic blockbuster Pokiri, which became a milestone in Mahesh Babu’s career, is reportedly getting a grand re-release. For the first time, special midnight shows are being planned as part of the re-release celebrations. These exclusive screenings are expected to be held on August 9, coinciding with Mahesh Babu’s birthday, allowing fans to experience the film’s magic once again on the big screen.

Released in 2006, Pokiri became an industry hit in Tollywood and created a new trend in commercial cinema. Directed by Puri Jagannadh, the film featured Ileana D’Cruz as the female lead, with Prakash Raj, Nassar, Ali, Brahmanandam, Sayaji Shinde, Ashish Vidyarthi, and Subbaraju in key roles. The film’s music was composed by Mani Sharma and was produced by Puri Jagannadh and Manjula Ghattamaneni under Vaishno Academy and Indira Productions banners.
