With the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce elections scheduled for December 28, members of our panel held a press meet to address key industry concerns.
Chadalavada Srinivasa Rao stated that all four sectors of the film industry must work together for its progress. He alleged that due to the functioning style of the Guild over the past decade, the industry has gone out of control. He criticised the Guild for acting in a self-centred manner and ignoring the problems of workers. He pointed out that issues which should have been resolved by the Chamber were instead addressed by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. He also stated that small producers are being neglected and that the Cube and UFO systems have created serious difficulties. He assured that their contesting panel would be accessible 24/7 to support members.
C. Kalyan accused the Guild of functioning purely for personal benefits. He said that small films are receiving no support and that the Guild has made false promises regarding OTT platforms and ticket pricing. He strongly criticised the Guild leadership’s statements on the Chamber building issue. He asserted that small producers stand firmly with their panel and appealed for their support in the elections.
Ravichand Yalamanchili said that the Guild had betrayed the industry by failing to deliver on its promises after coming to power. He alleged that major producers were acting only in their own self-interest and urged small producers to support their panel.
Natti Kumar stated that the Guild has provided no support and accused certain members of misusing Guild funds for personal gain. He said their panel would work towards implementing medical insurance facilities and ensuring a fifth show for small films.
Tummala Prasanna Kumar recalled that Chadalavada had extended financial assistance to many during the COVID-19 period. He accused Guild leaders of misusing their positions for personal benefit and of failing to implement the promised mediclaim scheme despite using Guild funds. He stated that their panel would engage with the government to ensure that industry resources are developed and utilised effectively.
