Naveen Patnaik Calls for Immediate Release of Ashutosh Ranka and Sourav Das

Biju Janata Dal (BJD) leader Naveen Patnaik has called for the immediate release of Ashutosh Ranka and Sourav Das from judicial custody. Expressing concern over their continued detention, Patnaik said that keeping individuals in custody for an extended period merely for hoisting the national flag, even in a restricted area, was not justified. He stressed that the circumstances surrounding the incident should be addressed in a manner that respects individual rights and the principles of justice.

Patnaik also highlighted the responsibility of the judiciary and executive to ensure that young people retain their faith in the rule of law and constitutional rights. He said that public confidence in democratic institutions depends on fairness, justice and respect for constitutional values. Concluding his message with “Jai Hind,” he called for an approach that upholds the rights and dignity of citizens.
