Veteran actor Nana Patekar’s last rites will be held at his farmhouse in Donje near Pune, Maharashtra. Patekar passed away at the age of 75 at his residence in Goa on Thursday morning after suffering a cardiac arrest. His mortal remains were subsequently brought to Pune, where arrangements were made for fans and well-wishers to pay their final respects.
The Maharashtra government has decided to accord full state honours to Nana Patekar in recognition of his contribution to Marathi theatre and Marathi and Hindi cinema. Maharashtra Cultural Affairs Minister Ashish Shelar announced the decision. Patekar, who had a career spanning several decades, was known for his acclaimed performances and also remained actively involved in social work.
