Naga Vamsi, one of the most happening producers in the industry, enjoys a huge following on social media. Known for his outspoken nature, he often lands in tricky situations by hyping up upcoming releases with his statements. However, when it came to Mass Jathara, he maintained a low profile. During War 2, his bold words and grand build-up completely misfired, leading to trolling with people joking that he “escaped to Dubai.” That episode reportedly hurt him deeply. Even before that, his strong confidence in Kingdom didn’t translate into success. Now, with Mass Jathara also turning out to be a flop, Naga Vamsi has added another failure to his account yet, according to insiders, he isn’t too worried.
The reason? Despite Kingdom and Mass Jathara failing commercially in theaters, both projects earned strong non-theatrical revenues (through OTT and satellite rights). To recover any remaining losses, Naga Vamsi already has a strong production lineup. Up next, Vishwak Sen’s Funky is gearing up for a December release. Allari Naresh’s Alcohol will hit theaters in early January. And for the Sankranti season, Naveen Polishetty’s Anaganaga Oka Raju is ready to entertain. Meanwhile, the Surya–Venky Atluri project has already generated massive buzz in both Telugu and Tamil, regardless of the hero’s recent track record.
In addition, projects featuring Ashok Galla and Anand Deverakonda are also gradually gaining traction. Inside talk suggests that the Venkatesh–Trivikram film under the Haarika & Hassine Creations banner could turn into a “golden goose” for the production house. So, despite one or two recent failures, Naga Vamsi doesn’t seem to be facing any major setbacks. Distributors, too, are confident, looking at his strong future lineup even if the current films didn’t perform well. All in all, industry circles say it’s good that Naga Vamsi has toned down his aggressive media statements. After all, actions speak louder than words and once he delivers a hit or two again, he might just return to his old, confident form.
