Prabhas starrer Kalki, directed by Nag Ashwin, emerged as a blockbuster by winning praise from audiences and collecting massive box office numbers worldwide. As the makers gear up for Kalki 2, discussions around certain scenes from the first installment have resurfaced on social media.
Some netizens questioned the portrayal of Karna and the film's climax, with a viral post claiming that the character was exaggerated. The debate intensified after the release of Akhil Akkineni's Lenin, as comparisons and criticism of Kalki began circulating online.
Responding to the criticism, Nag Ashwin shared a screenshot from the Mahabharata's Drona Parva on X, highlighting instances where Lord Krishna himself praised Karna's valor. He urged critics to read the Mahabharata thoroughly before making such claims. The director added that he deeply respects Indian epics and had extensively studied them before making the film. Confident in his vision, Nag Ashwin concluded his post by saying, "Wait for Kalki Part 2".
