Veteran actor Shivaji headlines the upcoming film Dhandoraa, taking on a pivotal and layered role that reflects his penchant for unconventional characters. Produced by Ravindra Banerjee Muppaneni under the Loukya Entertainments banner, known for acclaimed films like Colour Photo and Bedurulanka 2012, the film is directed by MuraliKanth and is set for a grand theatrical release on December 25.
Navdeep, Nandu, Ravi Krishna, Manika Chikkala, Mounika Reddy, Bindu Madhavi, Radhya, and Aditi Bhavaraju play prominent roles alongside Shivaji. As part of the film’s promotions, Shivaji interacted with the media and revealed that he heard the story of Dhandoraa much before Court. He described his role as deliberately ambiguous, leaving audiences to decide whether his character is good or bad. Playing a farmer, Shivaji noted that while every character in the film is important, the narrative largely revolves around his role.
Clarifying the film’s tone, Shivaji said Dhandoraa is not a purely message-oriented film but a well-balanced commercial entertainer with strong emotional depth and a natural screenplay. Confident that the response to his role will match the acclaim he received for Court, he added that the film offers multiple emotional shades and dignified portrayals, especially in Bindu Madhavi’s character. After Dhandoraa, Shivaji will next be seen in Sampradayini Suppini Suddapoosani and Epic, directed by Aditya Hassan, which he described as a deeply emotional film that will strongly connect with families.
