A significant development has taken place in the ivory possession case involving Malayalam superstar Mohanlal. The Kerala Forest Department has announced that DNA tests will be conducted on the ivory idols declared by the actor as part of the ongoing investigation. The move is aimed at verifying the origin and legal status of the ivory items.
Mohanlal recently disclosed that he possesses 10 elephant tusks and 13 ivory idols under the state's ivory amnesty scheme. He stated that most of the items were inherited or received as gifts. Forest officials also revealed that the collection includes idols of Lord Krishna, Lord Rama and Lord Balaji, weighing around 46 kilograms in total. The investigation will now determine whether all required legal procedures and ownership certifications were properly obtained.
