After a rough phase at the box office for the Mega family, the success of Pawan Kalyan’s OG finally broke the streak of disappointments that followed after Chiranjeevi’s Waltair Veerayya. With several films like Bro, Hari Hara Veera Mallu, Game Changer, Bhola Shankar, Operation Valentine and Matka failing to impress, OG brought much-needed relief for fans. Now, expectations are high again as Chiranjeevi’s Mana Shankar Vara Prasad Garu lines up for a Sankranti release.
The real storm, however, is expected in Summer 2026, with multiple Mega heroes preparing back-to-back releases. First up is Ram Charan’s Peddi, one of the most hyped films of the year. Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, this rural drama is carrying extraordinary buzz with strong reports from inside circles. Many believe Peddi could turn into the biggest opener of the summer season.
A few weeks later, Pawan Kalyan’s Ustaad Bhagat Singh will arrive in theatres. Directed by Harish Shankar, the cop-action entertainer has been in the making for a while. With the massive success of OG, the hype on UBS has doubled, and fans are expecting vintage PK energy on big screens. Following these, Chiranjeevi’s Vishwambhara, a big-budget social fantasy, is also eyeing a summer release after several postponements.
Adding to the Mega lineup, Sai Durgha Tej’s Sambaralu Yeti Gattu and Varun Tej’s Korean Kanakaraju are likely to join the summer battle as well. With multiple Mega releases lined up, Summer 2026 is expected to be a full-blown Mega domination at the box office—provided each film lands strong word of mouth during the holiday season
