Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja, one of the most inspiring self-made stars in Tollywood after Megastar Chiranjeevi, seems to be going through a rough patch in his career. Despite delivering several iconic blockbusters like Idiot, Amma Nanna O Tamil Ammayi, Vikramarkudu, and Kick, the actor’s success streak has sharply declined over the past decade. Except for Raja The Great, Krack, and Dhamaka, most of Ravi Teja’s recent releases have failed miserably. With Ravanasura, Tiger Nageswara Rao, Eagle, and now Mass Jathara turning into major flops, fans are increasingly worried about the actor’s career trajectory. Mass Jathara, which was expected to revive his mass image, failed to impress even during the opening weekend and completely collapsed by Monday. It’s now clear that even Ravi Teja’s “mass formula” is no longer working the magic it once did.
Realizing the changing trend, Ravi Teja has shifted his focus towards family entertainment. He is currently working quietly with director Kishore Tirumala, known for films like Nenu Sailaja and Chitralahari. The movie, tentatively titled Bharta Mahashayulaku Vignapthi, will reportedly show Ravi Teja in a more emotional, family-centric role — a refreshing shift from his usual mass avatars.
After facing a setback with Aadavallu Meeku Joharlu, Kishore Tirumala is said to be taking extra care with this project. Both the director and actor are in need of a strong comeback, and fans are hoping this combination will finally deliver the hit Ravi Teja desperately needs.
Though the film was initially planned for a Sankranti release, sources say it may hit screens only by February or March. Regardless of the date, one thing is certain — Ravi Teja needs a solid success soon, or his market could dip even further.
