Maruthi Gears Up for a Comeback Again

Tollywood director Maruthi, known for his signature comedy entertainers that appeal to family audiences, has carved a unique space in the industry. However, his recent film The Raja Saab, starring pan-India star Prabhas, failed to meet expectations and ended up as a major box-office disappointment. The film’s poor performance drew criticism, leading Maruthi to take a brief break from the industry.

Now, reports suggest that Maruthi is gearing up for a strong comeback with his next project. He is said to be planning a limited-budget entertaining film with Mega Prince Varun Tej in the lead role. Currently, Varun Tej is awaiting the release of Korean Kanakaraju and will next appear in Bari, produced by his sister Niharika Konidela. The Maruthi–Varun Tej collaboration is expected to go on floors after these commitments, raising curiosity about whether Maruthi can bounce back at the box office.
