The Marathi film ‘Deool Band 2’ has emerged as a surprise box office success, following the trend of low-budget regional films delivering strong returns. Made on a budget of around ₹9 crore, the film has collected nearly ₹40 crore within just nine days of release. The success adds to the growing list of unexpected regional hits, similar to the Gujarati film ‘Lalo’.
Directed by Pravin Tarde and starring Snehal Tarde and Mohan Joshi in key roles, the film released on May 21 across nearly 1,100 screens and expanded to 600 additional screens due to strong word-of-mouth response. It opened with ₹5.90 crore in its first weekend and has now entered the list of top 10 highest-grossing Marathi films. The film’s storyline follows a struggling woman farmer who experiences a spiritual encounter that transforms her life. The cast and crew also shared interesting behind-the-scenes stories, including a continuous 33-hour shooting schedule.
