Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez has once again come into the spotlight after making a key legal decision in the ₹200 crore money laundering case linked to alleged conman Sukesh Chandrasekhar. The actress has withdrawn her Special Leave Petition (SLP) from the Supreme Court, marking a significant shift in her legal strategy. As a result, the case proceedings will continue in the lower court. Reports suggest that Jacqueline has decided to present her defense more strongly at the trial court level instead of pursuing higher judicial intervention at this stage.
The case, registered under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), involves allegations that Jacqueline received expensive gifts from Sukesh Chandrasekhar. The actress has consistently maintained that she was unaware of the fraudulent background and claims she was misled. She has also withdrawn her earlier application to turn approver in the case. With the trial now continuing at the Patiala House Court, all eyes are on the upcoming hearings and how the case will progress further.
