In the upcoming action-adventure film Varanasi, Mahesh Babu will be seen performing an energetic song sequence alongside Priyanka Chopra, who plays Mandakini, while portraying the powerful character Rudra. Reports suggest that once the song concludes, Mahesh Babu’s character will unleash an intense action sequence, showcasing a fierce “Rudra Tandavam.” The film, directed by S. S. Rajamouli, also features Prithviraj Sukumaran in a key role as Kumbha. Notably, Mahesh Babu is said to appear as Lord Rama for a brief duration of around thirty minutes in the film.
Currently, the song is being shot on a specially erected set in Hyderabad. Following its completion, the team is expected to begin filming a large-scale action sequence that will span nearly a month. Mahesh Babu has reportedly undergone specialized training abroad for these sequences, while Priyanka Chopra is also expected to participate in select action scenes. The makers aim to wrap up the shooting by August this year. Produced by K. L. Narayana and S. S. Karthikeya, the film is slated for release on April 7, 2027.
