The release of ‘Jana Nayagan’, starring Vijay and directed by H. Vinoth, has once again faced a setback. The Madras High Court has delivered a crucial verdict related to the film, setting aside the earlier order passed by a single bench. As a result, it has become clear that the film’s release will not take place in the near future.
The High Court overturned the single judge’s direction to grant a U/A censor certificate to Jana Nayagan, stating that the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) should have been given more time to complete the certification process. The court clarified that the film cannot be released until it receives the necessary certification from the CBFC. It further directed that a final decision should be taken only after the film is reviewed by the revising committee. In light of these developments, the release of Jana Nayagan is expected to be delayed further.
