Kollywood star hero Dhanush has recently found himself embroiled in a major controversy. Thennandal Films has alleged that he violated an agreement made nearly a decade ago. In response, the production house has served him with legal notices, demanding compensation of approximately ₹20 crore. The notice further warned that failure to comply would result in legal action. This dispute has now become a hot topic within the film industry.
According to Thennandal Films, Dhanush had signed on in 2016 to work on the film Non-Rudran under their banner. However, the project did not progress as planned and the production house claims that Dhanush sidelined the project while taking on other films. The producers had made significant investments, constructed major sets and even paid advances to prominent actors such as Tollywood King Nagarjuna and S.J. Surya.
Thennandal Films stated that due to Dhanush’s negligence and delays, they incurred losses amounting to ₹20 crore. They have requested him to respond within a week and clarify when the film will be completed. If he fails to honor the agreement, the production house has demanded an additional ₹1 crore in damages along with the original compensation. Despite these ongoing controversies, Dhanush continues to advance his career, currently working on high-profile projects including D55, the Ilaiyaraaja biopic and the A.P.J. Abdul Kalam biopic.
