The re-release trend continues in Tollywood, and this time it’s Kodamasimham taking center stage. A few months ago, Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari re-released to massive hype and audience support. However, despite Vyjayanthi Movies’ best efforts at remastering, many fans complained about poor print quality. The negatives were badly damaged, and though the team worked hard, the restoration couldn’t fully deliver. The film’s vintage charm, Chiranjeevi–Sridevi pairing, and Ilaiyaraaja’s music drew crowds, but the dissatisfaction over quality remained.
Now, to fill that gap, Kodamasimham is ready to roar again, hitting screens on November 21. The trailer has already created a buzz — the visuals and clarity are stunning, proving the remastering team has done an exceptional job. Every detail — from Chiru’s expressions to the backdrop and lighting — looks crystal clear.
Originally released in 1990, this cowboy-themed film had an average run at the box office. But over time, it earned cult status among Telugu movie lovers for its unique style and setting.
Film analysts recommend watching Kodamasimham for several reasons: Chiranjeevi’s stylish cowboy look, energetic fights and dances, Raj–Koti’s vibrant music, K. Muralimohan Rao’s direction, and Dattu’s cinematography — all blend perfectly.
Interestingly, S.S. Rajamouli once revealed that he drew inspiration from Kodamasimham’s desert episode for Ram Charan’s iconic horse scene in Magadheera.
For Mega fans, this re-release is a nostalgic celebration; for movie lovers, it’s a chance to experience one of Telugu cinema’s most stylish classics in a whole new light.
