Producer Naga Vamsi, who has several projects lined up, is currently busy promoting Ravi Teja–Sreeleela’s Mass Jathara, directed by Bhanu Bhogavarapu, set to release on October 31.During promotions, he addressed his earlier production Kingdom, starring Vijay Deverakonda and directed by Gautham Tinnanuri. Despite high expectations, the film received mixed reviews, and many called it a box office failure — a label he disagrees with.“Kingdom should not be labeled a failure. It collected over $1 million from North American premieres and total collections reached around $1.8 million. In the Nizam region, it earned nearly ₹11 crore,” he explained. He added that Kingdom performed better than Kushi and Family Star, though it did not fully meet the massive expectations from the Vijay–Gautham–Anirudh combo.“If the film was sold for ₹100, some territories recovered 70%, others 80–90%. After GST adjustments, most distributors were safe, with only a few facing minor losses,”
he said.By trade standards, Naga Vamsi described Kingdom as an “above-average” film. His upcoming lineup includes Mass Jathara (Oct 31), Funky (Dec), Alcohol (New Year), and Anaganaga Oka Raju (Jan 14 – Sankranthi).
