Among today’s most popular South Indian actresses, Keerthy Suresh stands out as one of the biggest names. She entered films as a child artist in the Malayalam industry and later grew into a leading actress in Malayalam, Tamil, and Telugu cinema. She even made her Bollywood debut with the film “Maidaan.” After completing many successful years as an actress, she also stepped into married life last year.
Keerthy’s upcoming film Revolver Rita is set to hit the screens on the 28th of this month. In a recent interview, she shared some interesting details.
She mentioned that Revolver Rita is her first release after marriage. Many people often ask her when she will act alongside her husband, but she laughed and said, “He actually runs away from anything related to cinema! So acting together won’t happen.” She also said that her husband watched Revolver Rita with her, but after that he told her he would watch movies only in theatres and not in advance screenings.
Keerthy clarified that Revolver Rita is not a sequel to Kolamavu Kokila (CoCo). She recalled that some people once made fun of her performance in the Tamil film Thodari, but it was after watching that same film that the team selected her for Mahanati. That role later won her the National Award for Best Actress.
She also spoke about a disturbing deepfake video where she and actress Samantha were shown together without their knowledge. She said it scared her, and emphasized that although foreign countries provide better safety for women, India too needs stronger laws to ensure similar protection.
Keerthy revealed that she has a strong interest in direction and is currently writing a script on her own. She said she dreams of directing at least one film in her life.
