The war-like situation in West Asia has intensified following joint military strikes by the United States and Israel on Iran, escalating global tensions. In retaliation, Iran reportedly launched attacks on US base camps located in eight countries. Amid rising fears of further conflict, Iraq, the UAE, Jordan and Israel have closed their airspace as a precautionary measure. The Indian Embassy in Jordan has issued urgent advisories to Indian nationals and tourists, urging them to move to safer locations.
These developments caused concern within the Telugu film industry, as the shooting of the prestigious film Dragon, starring Jr NTR and directed by Prashanth Neel, had recently been underway in Jordan. Anticipating the growing tensions, the film unit wrapped up its schedule on the 22nd of this month and returned to India. Had the shoot been extended by a few more days, Jr NTR and hundreds of crew members might have faced the risk of being stranded. During this crucial schedule, key sequences considered highlights of the film were shot, including three major action sequences in Jordan’s desert regions. Jr NTR reportedly performed the stunts without a body double. A mass song was also filmed at the same location.
Jr NTR has now safely returned to Hyderabad, much to the relief of his fans. With the project already experiencing delays, there were concerns that the escalating conflict might further impact the schedule. However, as the overseas portions are nearly complete, the remaining shoot will take place in India, primarily at Ramoji Film City and other domestic locations. The makers remain confident that the film’s release will not be affected. Jr NTR is set to appear in a never-before-seen look in the film, which is scheduled for a worldwide release on June 25 this year.
