Producer Venkat K. Narayana has described Jana Nayagan as a heartfelt tribute to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay’s cinematic legacy, promising fans an unforgettable theatrical experience. Directed by H. Vinoth and produced under the KVN Productions banner, the film stars Vijay alongside Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, and Mamitha Baiju. Narayana revealed that although the film was originally planned for a January release, unexpected legal, piracy, and distribution issues delayed it to July 23.
During the media interaction, Narayana praised Vijay’s professionalism and discipline, calling him one of the most memorable personalities he has worked with. He clarified that while two scenes were inspired by Bhagavanth Kesari, the overall story presents a completely new world and emotional conflict. He also expressed disappointment over the film receiving an 'A' certificate instead of 'U/A', believing its message of girl-child empowerment deserved a wider family audience. According to him, Jana Nayagan is designed as a fitting farewell to Vijay’s acting career and a celebration of his journey before fully dedicating himself to public service.
