Is Hyderabad Becoming India’s Multiplex Capital ?

Hyderabad continues to grow rapidly as a major hub for infrastructure, technology, and entertainment, with multiplex culture expanding steadily across the city. Several leading film stars already own and operate premium theatres in association with Asian Cinemas, including Mahesh Babu’s AMB Cinemas, Allu Arjun’s AAA Cinemas, and Ravi Teja’s ART Cinemas. Venkatesh and Mahesh Babu are also preparing to launch AMB Classic, while the Allu family is planning another multiplex, reflecting Hyderabad’s growing appetite for high-end cinema experiences.

Joining this list, Bollywood star Ajay Devgn is set to launch his luxury multiplex brand, Devgn CineX, in Hyderabad. The seven-screen multiplex will be located at Coliseum Mall in Karmanghat and is expected to open next year. Rebranded from NY Cinemas, Devgn CineX currently operates a flagship multiplex in Gurugram and focuses on combining classic movie-going charm with modern technology. Ajay Devgn plans to expand the brand to 250 screens across India, marking a significant entry into the Hyderabad cinema market.
