

Renowned singer and Indian Idol Season 3 winner Prashanth Tamang has reportedly passed away due to a heart attack. His death was confirmed by his friend and Indian Idol co-contestant Bhaven Dhanak, who said that Prashanth’s sudden demise has deeply shocked everyone. Bhaven recalled that Prashanth had been living in Delhi for some time and that they were roommates during the Indian Idol show. Before gaining nationwide recognition through Indian Idol, Prashanth served as a constable in the West Bengal Police. He is survived by his wife and a daughter.
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee expressed her condolences on X, stating that the news of Prashanth’s death has left her deeply saddened. She praised his journey on Indian Idol, noting that he earned widespread recognition and admiration across the country. Hailing from Darjeeling, Prashanth not only won hearts through his music but also served the state through his work in the police department. He was recently seen in Salman Khan-starrer Battle of Galwan. His songs reflecting Gurkha culture earned him immense popularity and a lasting place in the hearts of fans.
