Imran Hashmi, once widely associated with romantic dramas, soulful music and intense love stories, has made a strong return to the box office with Aawaarapan 2. According to trade estimates, the film earned Rs 100.75 crore net in India within five days of its release and reportedly grossed Rs 144.13 crore worldwide. The film has also become the first Rs 100 crore grosser led by Imran as the solo hero, making the achievement particularly significant for his career.
The original Aawaarapan, released in 2007, did not become a major theatrical success at the time but gradually developed a dedicated fan base. Its emotional storyline, memorable music and Imran’s performance helped the film gain a special following over the years. Nearly two decades later, that connection appears to have worked in favour of Aawaarapan 2. With Imran taking on supporting and antagonist roles in recent projects, the success of the sequel has once again highlighted his potential as a solo lead.
