Movie lovers in Hyderabad have finally received the news they have been waiting for. The world-renowned IMAX experience is set to make a comeback in the city through a partnership between Asian Cinemas and IMAX Corporation. As part of the initiative, a state-of-the-art IMAX with Laser screen will be installed at AMB Classic Sudarshan, operated under Mahesh Babu's AMB Cinemas network in the RTC Cross Roads area of Hyderabad.
The iconic Prasads IMAX once enjoyed a special reputation among moviegoers for its massive screen, immersive sound system, and superior visual quality. However, IMAX screenings ceased there after 2015, leaving fans without the premium viewing experience for nearly a decade. Hyderabad has now been selected as the first location among three upcoming IMAX with Laser projects planned in India. The new facility is expected to be completed and opened to audiences by the end of 2026, generating excitement among cinema enthusiasts across the city.
