Mega Prince Varun Tej has expressed his desire to share the screen with his brother, Global Star Ram Charan. Following the success of ‘Korean Kanakaraju’, Varun opened up about his career and upcoming projects. He admitted that the lack of major successes over the past five years had put him under some pressure, but the positive response to ‘Korean Kanakaraju’ has brought him considerable relief. Varun said he does not want to restrict himself to a particular genre and believes an actor should be able to immerse himself in any kind of role. He also noted that despite the growing importance of OTT platforms, filmmakers must continue to offer pure entertainment to audiences who visit theatres.
Talking about his upcoming sports drama ‘Bari’, Varun said his earlier film ‘Ghani’ became somewhat confusing because several elements were combined, whereas ‘Bari’ will have a realistic and completely sports-oriented backdrop. He revealed that the idea for the film came from his sister Niharika. Varun also confirmed that he has agreed to act in a romantic film directed by Karthik Subbaraj, describing it as a different kind of love story suited to his age. Speaking about Ram Charan, Varun said his brother is a top actor and a major source of inspiration, particularly because of the hard work he puts into his films. He added that acting alongside Charan is one of his biggest wishes. Varun also revealed that he entered the film industry with the ambition of becoming a director and intends to pursue filmmaking in the future.
