

Hombale Films, one of India’s most prestigious and visionary production houses, has achieved a historic milestone on the global stage. Two of its highly acclaimed 2025 releases, Mahavatar Narasimha and Kantara: Chapter 1, have been officially submitted to the Oscar General Entry List, marking a proud moment for Indian cinema. Directed by Rishab Shetty and produced by Vijay Kiragandur, Kantara: Chapter 1, along with Mahavatar Narasimha directed by Ashwin Kumar and presented by Hombale Films, received widespread appreciation for their powerful storytelling, cultural depth, technical excellence, and cinematic scale.
With their inclusion in the General Entry List, both films are now eligible for consideration across major Oscar categories, including Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Director, Best Producer, Best Original Screenplay, Best Production Design, and Best Cinematography, subject to Academy evaluation. Notably, out of the five Indian films featured in this year’s General Entry List, two belong to Hombale Films, highlighting the banner’s growing global influence. This achievement reflects Hombale Films’ consistent commitment to backing meaningful narratives and elevating Indian cinema on international platforms.
