Director Prashanth Neel has shared new insights into the backdrop of his upcoming film "Dragon", starring NTR in the lead role. Following the release of the film’s first glimpse, the filmmaker revealed that the story is set against the realistic landscapes of Mumbai and Kolkata. He stated that his childhood experiences continue to influence his storytelling and described "Dragon" as one of the most grounded and reality-based narratives of his career.

Prashanth Neel further explained that the film revolves around opium trafficking and illegal trade networks that continued even after the British colonial era.
