International Cricket Council’s newly introduced “Post-Pregnancy Return to Play” guidelines for women cricketers have received widespread appreciation, with Deepika Padukone lauding the move as a historic and progressive decision. She described the policy as a significant step forward for women in sports and shared her support through her Instagram stories, calling it a well-deserved recognition for female athletes. The initiative aims to create a supportive environment for cricketers returning to the field after childbirth.
The ICC’s policy ensures comprehensive medical and psychological care for new mothers, along with personalized recovery plans and structured training schedules to help regain fitness. Special travel arrangements have also been introduced for mothers with infants. Meanwhile, Deepika has been in the spotlight for stepping back from major projects last year due to work-life balance discussions, receiving support from industry peers. On the professional front, she is set to appear in “King” alongside Shah Rukh Khan under Siddharth Anand’s direction and in “Raka” with Allu Arjun, directed by Atlee.
