High Tension Around ‘Jailer 2’ in the Telugu Market

Superstar Rajinikanth is currently starring in Jailer 2, directed by Nelson Dilip Kumar. The film is officially scheduled for release on October 16. Despite the release date approaching, the theatrical business for the Telugu states is yet to be finalised, according to industry sources.

The delay is largely attributed to the massive success of the first installment Jailer in the Telugu market, which yielded significant profits for distributors. Riding on that success, Sun Pictures is reportedly quoting a high price for the Telugu theatrical rights of Jailer 2. This has made several distributors cautious, resulting in a delay in closing the deal. With strong buzz surrounding the film, it remains to be seen which distributor will ultimately secure the Telugu rights.
