High Court Stays Order on Theater Parking Fees; Old Policy to Continue

The Telangana High Court has stayed an earlier order prohibiting the collection of parking fees at single-screen and standalone theaters. In this case, Advocates S. Niranjan Reddy and Sirgapur Sahil Reddy presented arguments on behalf of the theater owners. They submitted to the court that the previous orders had been issued without hearing their side of the arguments.

After hearing arguments from both parties, the High Court made key observations. It clarified that since the petitioner had filed the case specifically regarding parking fees collected at a single theater, the resulting order should be limited solely to that particular theater. Consequently, with the exception of the Asian Konark Theater, all other single-screen theaters in Telangana are now permitted to collect parking fees.
