High Court permits withdrawal of petition on ‘Peddi’ ticket price hike

The petition filed seeking permission to increase ticket prices for the upcoming film ‘Peddi’, scheduled for release on June 4, was withdrawn by Mythri Movie Makers. The High Court permitted the withdrawal and disposed of the case. The producers had approached the court alleging delay in government approval.

During the hearing, the court observed that the government must take a decision on the request. However, as the matter could become infructuous by the next hearing, the petitioner requested permission to withdraw the plea. Accepting the request, the court dismissed the petition.
