The issue of hero remunerations has once again become a hot topic across social media and the film industry. Reports suggest that leading production houses like Mythri Movie Makers are offering hefty paychecks not only to star heroes but also to Tier-2 actors, sparking widespread discussion. This trend is drawing attention to the rising financial dynamics within the industry.
Currently, actors like Soori are reportedly charging around ₹25 crore for new projects, while young talent Pradeep Ranganathan is said to be demanding nearly ₹50 crore. While some producers feel this puts pressure on mid-range filmmakers, industry experts argue that remuneration is driven by market demand. However, with uncertainties in theatrical collections, OTT, and satellite revenues, there are concerns that unchecked pay scales could pose risks to the overall film business.
