Rakul Preet Singh recently talked about the most difficult time in her career while filming De De Pyaar De 2. She turned her attention to Bollywood after acting in a number of popular Telugu films, including Sarrainodu, Dhruva, and Pandaga Chesko. But things didn't work out as expected, and some of her most recent movies, like Mere Husband Ki Biwi, didn't do well. For her, the past few years have been especially difficult. Rakul appears to be back in the spotlight, though, as De De Pyaar De 2 continues its steady run after a strong opening. By the end of its first week, the movie had made about ₹51 crore nett.
Rakul first discussed a serious spine injury she sustained during filming in an interview that went viral amid the excitement surrounding the movie. When the injury happened, she had already finished half the movie and was bedridden for forty days. She had to take a three-month break from the project because she wasn't sure when she would be able to walk normally again. She was still unable to sit comfortably even after going back to the sets. "I was lying on a physio bed for nearly half of the film. Many were shocked when she said, "You won't even notice it on screen."
The highway sequence, which has now gained a lot of attention, was the most difficult part. Rakul described how it was handled, saying, "My physio bed was literally placed on the highway." After they set up the shot, I would lie down, get up, act out my scene, and then instantly lie down again. As viewers applaud her performance today, they are also recognizing the tremendous suffering, endurance, and commitment that went into her work in the movie.
