Music composer GV Prakash Kumar, who has been working extensively on Telugu films, describes Ravi Teja’s upcoming ‘Irumbudi’ as one of the most challenging projects of his career. Directed by Shiva Nirvana and produced by Mythri Movie Makers, the film blends devotion, emotion, psychology and action, requiring a distinct musical treatment. Prakash said he joined the project before the release of its first song and found the experience highly rewarding. He described the film as a new kind of thriller in Telugu cinema, with unpredictable twists and a character-driven narrative rather than conventional heroism. He also expressed confidence that the film could earn national recognition and perform strongly commercially.
Speaking about the background score, Prakash said the psychological portions were particularly challenging because the music needed to reflect the characters’ internal conflicts without becoming overwhelming. Instead of using numerous instruments and layers, the team relied on just a few instruments to create the required mood. He said the film features five songs and highlighted ‘Yaalaalo’ and ‘Mallipoola Pallaki’ among his favourites. According to Prakash, ‘Mallipoola Pallaki’ has been trending recently, while the emotional song that appears during Ravi Teja’s climax is particularly close to the actor. He added that Shiva Nirvana has a strong understanding of both music and lyrics, making their collaboration distinctive from the director’s earlier films.
